The Lakeshore Village BIA (Business Improvement Area), is hosting what looks to be a fun day filled with yummy food, live music, rides and games, a beer garden and lots of other fun to be had. Hope to see you there! Here is some more info directly from their site (see link to the left).
“Lakeshore Village BIA was looking for a unique theme for a gathering based around food to encourage residents of Toronto to come and explore the great business in New Toronto along Lake Shore Blvd. W. Previous attempts from sidewalk sales, to music and outdoor movies were fun but they were expensive and had limited turn out. So, time for something different. After coming highly recommended from Taste of the Kingsway and the Roncenvalles Festival, we hired Envoke Marketing to help us out.
When the idea of a festival around Grilled Cheese Sandwiches was suggested by Envoke – everyone was surprised. Some saying “Fabulous!” others saying “That’s Crazy or Stupid” truth is, it’s both. Everyone loves a great grilled cheese sandwich. It’s a comfort food, warm and cheesy goodness. So, why not we decided. Lets go for it!
There will be family fun events, kids stuff and vendors like any other festival, but our Grilled Cheese Challenge is a call for Food Lovers to come and try some of the best Grilled Cheese Sandwiches out there. The challenge is real, there will be judging and prizes at the end of the day. From noon till 4pm, you can come and sample Grilled Cheeses from the Challengers (*fees may vary from vendor to vendor) From a simple cheese classic to the gourmet lobster grill cheese, we look forward to seeing what the competitors come up with.
